About
Dr. Gupta works on thin films of mesogenic molecules, nanomaterials and the composites. Currently, his research interests are focused on understanding the change in properties of materials in the ultrathin film regime and its application for device fabrication. He and his team comprising Dr. Manjuladevi and Mr Devanarayanan in BITS Pilani have developed a low cost portable surface plasmon resonance instrument with the financial support from DST, India. The instrument is ready for any sensing application.
His current research interest are
- Optics: Surface Plasmon Resonance
- Instrumentation and related software development
- Scanning probe microscopy of thin films of nanoparticles
- Controlling parameters for defect formation in thin films
- Scanning tuneling microscopy/spectroscopy
- Application of ultrathin films for device development
- etc.
