The Bio-incubation Centre would nurture innovations in areas that can produce “products” which will not only have great market potential but also provide a “process” or solution to several pressing problems that are modern day challenges to mankind. With 3500 square feet of state-of-the-art facility, the Bio-incubator will handhold the start-ups by providing them space and facilitate to test their ideas in the lab and in the market ​.

Overview

BITS BIRAC BioNEST incubator, under BITS Goa Innovation, Incubation and Entrepreneurship Society (BGIIES) registered under the Societies Registration Act 1860, is an initiative of Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani, K K Birla Goa Campus that promotes innovation and entrepreneurship in Health & Environment. BioNEST Goa had been initially supported by BIRAC (Biotechnology Industry Research Assistance Council), a Non-profit organization under Department of Biotechnology (DBT), Government of India. BioNEST aims to help entrepreneurs to ideate, incubate and accelerate their innovative early stage start ups into successful ventures through infrastructural support, mentoring, networking and business advisory. About the Institute

The Birla Institute of Technology & Science (BITS), Pilani is an all-India Institute for higher education with campuses in Pilani, Goa, Hyderabad and Dubai.

This involves providing entrepreneurs, mentors, researchers, and academicians with the necessary infrastructure support, including laboratory space and equipment. A key responsibility is to offer comprehensive mentoring, networking opportunities, and business advisory services to help startups navigate the challenges of early-stage development and achieve successful ventures. The incubator also plays a crucial role in stimulating conversations, innovative thinking, and the creation of a vibrant startup ecosystem within the BITS Goa Innovation, Incubation and Entrepreneurship Society (BGIIES) framework. Ultimately, the collective responsibility is to nurture and guide promising ideas and technologies from their initial stages to impactful market solutions.
