The Birla Institute of Technology & Science (BITS) Pilani, founded in 1964, is an all-India Institute for Higher Education and Research which is committed to generating, disseminating, and preserving knowledge, and to working with others to bring this knowledge to bear on the world's great challenges. Roles / Responsibilities

At BITS Pilani, the faculty affairs department serves as the center point for regulating all matters involved in faculty appointments and human resources management. The department handles the entire recruitment process of new members of the faculty from all subjects and campuses such that the university is able to attract best and brightest minds commensurate with its vision to achieve academic brilliance and innovation. Through a sequential and transparent model of recruitment, the Institute is committed to achieving a diverse, dynamic, and vibrant faculty team.

Aside from recruitment, the department also handles important administrative tasks such as promotions, salary structures, benefits, and retirement planning. It aims to deliver a supportive and rewarding workplace through the provision of extensive packages and opportunities for career growth. Continuous revision of policies toward professional development ensures that members of the faculty are accorded continuous development and are enabled to achieve their utmost potential.
