Prof. Aritra Mukherjee
Assistant Professor, Dept. of Computer Science and Information Systems
Education
Doctor of Philosophy in Engineering, from Jadavpur University in 2020. Thesis - “Design of Real-Time System for SLAM and Semantic Mapping” under Prof. Sanjoy Kumar Saha
Master of Computer Science & Engineering, from Jadavpur University in 2015.
My areas of Interest are mainly Computer Vision and Machine learning required for it. More specifically I am interested in:
- Semantic SLAM (Simultaneous Localisation And Mapping)
- Semantic segmentation of images and video streams
- Object segmentation from Lidar point cloud for geometric model estimation
- Object localization, tracking and recognition in real time from video streams
- Stereo vision (for SLAM and 3D reconstruction)
- Robot control of vehicles and manipulators with visual feedback control
I have experience in all the areas above and in future, I would like to work on:
- Multi modal learning to map information to same cluster in latent space which is agnostic to type of input (i.e. visual, audio or textual) with knowledge graph based semantic interrelationship mapping so that classical approaches can be used for training machines with visual vocabulary and grammar.
- Anything related to application of computer vision in the field of robotics and autonomous systems in general.
