Dr. Krishnakanta Bhattacharya
WELCOME
Hi, I am Krishna kanta Bhattacharya, you can call me Krish. I am currently an assistant professor in the Department of General Science (Physics) at BITS Pilani Dubai Campus. I work on various aspects of gravitation and cosmology, with special emphasis on those areas which tries to interpret gravitation as an emergent phenomenon - such as black hole thermodynamics and fluid-gravity correspondence. My work ranges from general relativity to various modified theories of gravity; such as the scalar-tensor gravity, f(R) gravity, Lanczos-Lovelock gravity and so on. I did my Ph.D. in IIT Guwahati under the guidance of Prof. Bibhas Ranjan Majhi, one of the most well-known scientists in India in this direction. I also had a brief opportunity to work with the eminent Professor T. Padmanabhan - an Indian legend in theoretical physics. My academic journey has been briefly discussed in the following.
