This study intends to examine how education and skill development programs affect youth employment outcomes like labor market participation, job quality, and earnings in India. The study assumes importance as youth unemployment, especially among educated youths, remains high. Over 1,500 youths across 4 states of India will be surveyed over a period of 5 years to gain insights pertaining to their transition from college into the workforce. Using economic theories, the research will assess whether skill acquisition improves long-term career prospects and whether public initiatives such as entrepreneurship programs effectively enhance employability and earnings. The findings of the study intend to provide important policy recommendations.
