The main objective of the research project is to create novel inhibitors specifically tailored to target the protein-protein interaction involving the sigma factor RNA polymerase of Mycobacterium tuberculosis. By focusing on designing and synthesizing these inhibitors, the ultimate goal is to develop effective antimycobacterial agents that can combat tuberculosis infections.
